Subtle, But Fresh

***
I think this look would be the perfect antidote for my blah-blah-blahs...although subtle, it's fresh and confident. Right now, while there's still a little nip in the night air, it would be great with a slim jean, thick stocking and soft cashmere wrap....don't forget a little chunky gold too.

Anne Valerie Hash + Haider Ackermann

I just saw these shoes on the BLEACHBLACK blog, and can't seem to get them out of my head! In my mind's eye everything seems to pair flawlessly with them, with every ensemble I envision being effortlessly cool and severely chic. I imagine myself trotting down the streets of Manhattan in 1,000 layers of black cashmere, dodging paparazzi like an Olsen twin...Or wait! Even better: I'm a Dutch architect peering out the floor-to-ceiling window of my studio/loft, sipping espresso and looking very sexy, and very contemplative. Anyway...I like the way these two pieces compliment each other, each having contrasting textures and a structured softness to them.

Costume National + Chloe

So, I was having a difficult time trying to find an interesting shoe for this Chloe dress/jacket too...something with both personality and sophistication. But he truth is, these booties would be great with just about everything! The shape is bold and graphic, the color soft and earthy... they basically carry themselves and don't need to "go with" anything. I would also unbutton the dress/jacket and wear it with jeans (either slim enough to tuck into the boot, or boyish and rolled-up) and a good-old white t-shirt.

Chloe + Mogil = Love

I know this isn't the most likely pairing, but maybe that's why I think it works. The dress with a sweet, scalloped hemline, soft color and modest 1960's shape juxtapose the overt toughness of the shoes. I think this look has a sexy, no-fuss appeal that I personally would love to emulate.
